A short history of AR: After many months of designing, reworking, and all-around general procrastination, ChibiCree and StarFire have finally decided to get their act together and finish their beloved brainchild, AR. It all began several years ago, with StarFire's Custom Banner Service, and as the two acquired better graphics programs, more experience, and another computer (Cree's kick-ass G4!), they expanded into the realm of wallpapers and Winamp skins. Several months after their venture, Cree and StarFire were sitting around admiring their handiwork are realized, "Hey, ...we got a lot of stuff." And so they did. They also came to the conclusion that hoarding all that stuff was, in their words, "not nice." Seeing as they were web design majors anyway, Cree and StarFire scribbled out their idea for a unique multimedia website devoted to bringing anime fans great banners, wallpapers, and skins. After many days of promising each other "Yeah, I'm definitely going to work on the page tonight," Cree finally got around to looking at their old sketches. She aptly dubbed them "crap," and promptly dumped them in the bin. And so, after much upload time, many Photoshop filters, and gallons of carbonated beverages, Cree and StarFire prove that PCs and Macs can, in fact, work together. AR's Fanart Policy

Anime Revolution has a few policies concerning anime art and fanart. At AR, we only use published anime, manga, and doujinshi art in our creations. Doujinshi art is also included because, unlike fanart, the doujinshi pictures we use have all been published and the artists paid. All the pictures in our libraries have been gathered from the web, and some we scanned in ourselves. AR does not own the rights to any of the original artwork; those rights belong solely to the respective artists and/or companies. We are not profiting from our artwork, it is merely art by fans for fans. We believe that "fanart," the un-published work of a fan, belongs solely to the artists - and that no one should for any reason use, modify, or display fanart without direct permission from the artist. At AR, we try not to use any fanart in our creations, unless it is our own. If you discover a piece of your fanart in one of our works, and wish it to be removed, or at least credited, please don't hesitate to e-mail us. In return, we at Anime Revolution ask that you do not display our works on your webpage without getting proper permission. While we did not, in most cases, draw the original art, we did spend a lot of time redesigning and modifying these works, making them into wallpapers and skins to offer on this site. In a way, this is our "fanart." If you wish to display any of AR's works on your webpage, we ask you to please follow these few rules:

• Read over the required steps in the Copyright Information section.
  
  
• Get written permission (e-mail) from one or all of the Anime Revolution staff.
  
  
• All wallpapers, banners, and Winamp skins MUST be credited to Anime Revolution. This includes any custom-made work that we've done for you that you wish to display. Please give us credit for our hard work and give others a chance to find more of our works they might enjoy.
  
  
• We ask that you provide somewhere on your page a link back to Anime Revolution. You can use one of our AR banners, or merely text-link us, but it must be in a visible place (such as a links page - not in size 1 font at the very bottom of your A Tribute To Cheese page or something). We prefer that our link be displayed directly beneath any work that we have created.

The staff of Anime Revolution do not consider themselves "mean people." We want you to take our work and use it on your computers! Print it out and hang it in your locker! Give some to your friends! It makes a swell Arbor Day gift! ...OK, maybe not, but please respect our work and give us some credit. If you like our work, please tell us! Or link your page to ours! Only with fan support can we continue to make Anime Revolution bigger and better!
